“There is no morally licit way”The Vatican says these techniques violate the principle that every human life — even an embryo — is sacred, and that children should be conceived only through intercourse by a married couple.
The church also objects to freezing embryos, because it exposes them to potential damage and manipulation, and raises the irresolvable problem of what to do with frozen embryos that are not implanted. There are hundreds of thousands of these in the United States alone, a fact that prompted church ethicists to use this document to reiterate the church’s opposition to in vitro fertilization.Vatican Issues Instruction on Bioethics - NYTimes.com
from the Instruction:Human/animal hybrid embryos.
The Instruction rejects attempts to create such hybrids (including the use of animal eggs in attempts at human cloning), noting that "from an ethical standpoint such procedures represent an offense against the dignity of human beings on account of the admixture of human and genetic elements capable of disrupting the specific identity of man.
" The Instruction concludes by explaining the positive vision of human progress that grounds its moral judgments against specific abuses of biotechnology.
. Through modern science and technology, the Instruction says, the human person "participates in the creative power of God and is called to transform creation" in service to "the dignity and wellbeing of all human beings and of the human person in his entirety."

)bama : Being The Kerfuffle

We’ve been watching Barack Obama for two years now, and in all that time there hasn’t been a moment in which he has publicly lost his self-control. This has been a period of tumult, combat, exhaustion and crisis. And yet there hasn’t been a moment when he has displayed rage, resentment, fear, anxiety, bitterness, tears, ecstasy, self-pity or impulsiveness. It could be that Obama will be an observer, not a leader. Rather than throwing himself passionately into his causes, he will stand back. Congressional leaders, put off by his supposed intellectual superiority, will just go their own way. Lost in his own nuance, he will be passive and ineffectual. Lack of passion will produce lack of courage. The Obama greatness will give way to the Obama anti-climax.We can each guess how the story ends. But over the past two years, Obama has clearly worn well with voters. Far from a celebrity fad, he is self-contained, self-controlled and maybe even a little dull. Op-Ed Columnist - Thinking About Obama - NYTimes.com
Note
Sardines are healthy and considered a "brain food."
These fish are rich in omega 3 fatty acids, which can help maintain a healthy heart[citation needed]. Recent studies suggest that omega-3 fatty acids slow the progression of mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease[citation needed]. These fatty acids can also help control blood sugar level[citation needed]. Not only are sardines packed with omega-3 fatty acids, but they are also a good source of vitamin D, calcium, B12 and protein. [4] Sardines are extremely low in contaminates such as mercury.
